Re-direction
‘I mean, why does a car have steering wheels?’ - Lauryn Hill
There comes a point in a young woman’s life where she must reassess the five blogs she has on tumblr. If you liked me and followed, continue on to the blog I’ve decided to stick with and cultivate:
If you like:
- young women doing their thing
- the inspired, the wakeful
- new beginnings
- love, travel, the sea, fresh air
- hip hop and soul
- a young woman doing her thang.
GO FOR IT!
Thank you.

For so long I haven’t moved because I thought that I had no one to share my love with. Here’s a first attempt at some freestylin!
Maybe
I should just write this all down. Maybe I should let a soul breathe. Maybe I should disregard what the rest of the world thinks, maybe I should stop caring, maybe I should stop all the noise in my ear. Maybe I should let my soul bleed, end the vacillation, put a stop to all the fuzz and let the flood gates go and drown the universe with my gushing waters. We have gone too far to take back the entropy. Now, we must swathe for perfection.
1 The return
After so long
I feel like me
Synapse after synapse magnetized
Aligned consequently.
A pencil screaming
sharpened to the tee.
Forgetting vacancy
the ghost of me.
A brain that bleeds flowers
upon barren grounds
A giant red of sunset
enveloping slopes of man
A burning flame of thoughts
reconfiguring history
I can see it all,
like an artist
blurs of society
My machine pumps out
Dreams, rampantly

" The white fathers told us: I think, therefore I am. The Black mother within each of us—the poet— whispers in our dreams: I feel therefore I can be free"
Audre Lorde, Poetry Is Not a Luxury (via lightsandsparks (via thinkspeakwriteconsciously)
I was not made from accepting a reality. I was not made by plastic images around me and those plastered on me. I was made from the passion in my heart, born from the love and sweat of my mother’s childbirth, the raw feel of the Earth under my feet and those of my ancestors who have walked many miles to where I stand today. I am a proud woman vulnerable to feeling and strong because of it. If you are first true and honest with yourself, then you can be honest with the world and deal with it in your courtroom, your battleground. I hope every woman can liberate themselves and realise a truth that rings within.
